Blending Old and New

Traditional & Modern Extension, Christchurch

Clients comments
'We were very aware that we didn't want to spoil the existing house. The key was making the new and old parts work together in harmony'.
'Barny's designs addressed all the families concerns.'

Traditional at the front modern at the back.

Our design united disparate elements by incorporating the detached garage, and building a range of bedrooms overit. Against this backdrop the modern breakfast room extension at the back contrast well in a successful design.

This spacious extension was an elegant integration of modern and traditional architecture to complement each other. Simplicity is the great features of the design, opening up the kitchen, family and games room with wonderful views over the garden and it's neighbouring green field.

A striking element of the design was the introduction of Green Sedum Roof over the extension roof, creating an outstanding balcony and deck to the proposed new bedroom with stunning views over the countryside, blending in with nature. Our building was featured in the "Selfbuild & Design" magazine .
